about
This is the demo track (single) from my upcoming LP The Disgust of Self Recognition. It is an LP that is based on the poetry and experiences that I have had within the last few years of my life inside of an emotionally abusive relationship. Maybe my experiences can help someone in a similar state. I have decided to release this track to help fund my custody battle with the person from said relationship. I posted it as a dollar, but anything helps, and I figure people would be more apt to buy a song than donate to a GoFundMe.
lyrics
On my skin
Can’t you see this damage,
In the scars I wear on my skin?
But nothing can compare to what’s obfuscated,
Laid bare my flesh,
Open and raw to be devoured,
Only to be mocked like I’m decaying,
As they spit, laughed, and scoured.
Growing and spreading this cancerous foe,
Creeps in like a thief with murderous thought
And tone.
I’ve survived many battles,
Ones that should never been fought,
With people I’ve loved, cared for, and died for,
Tallied them all up as loss.
Growing and spreading this cancerous foe,
Creeps in like a thief with murderous thought
And tone.
Inside these four walls,
Even though there is a body,
My soul does the void beckon and call.
Can’t you see this damage,
The one I still take,
Wishing I were dreaming,
Even though I’m wide awake.
Left benign and empty,
Full of nothingness,
Gripped by death inhale,
Then release my final breath
